All consignments are handled in full compliance with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Live Animal Regulations (LAR) and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).

Accepted Animal Species | Vast majority of animal species are accepted on British Airway and Iberia pending size and capacity of aircraft. Aer Lingus only accepts cats, dogs and invertebrates. |
Animal Restrictions | No animals for laboratory testing accepted under any circumstance. Certain cat and dog breed restrictions apply |
Freight and Document Cut Off | Live Animals are required to be checked in 4 hours to departure* |
Arrival Collection Times | Animal arrivals worldwide are subject to varying levels of local authority paperwork and health checks and so collection times can vary depending on the station and other circumstances. All animal consignments are treated with extremely high levels of priority. Contact your destination station through the link below for more information on collection times and process. |
Available Stations | Whilst the majority of our IAG Cargo served stations are capable of handling Live Animal shipments, there are some stations that are unable to do so. Please complete the query form or discuss this with your local reservations team to discuss if your preferred origin and destinations are available. |
Available Connections | Transits of AVI are available in London and Madrid to connect onto other IAG Cargo served destinations, where possible. London and Madrid have fully licensed and approved transit facilities for Live Animals. |
Connection Times | LHR: Minimum 240 min** | LGW: Minimum 240 min** | MAD: Minimum 360 min** Please refer to local teams for network stations. |
Weight and Volume Limits | Operating aircraft limits apply. Please complete the query form or discuss this with your local reservations team to discuss if any restrictions apply to your consignment. |
Recovery Promise | In the unlikely event that your animal does not fly as booked you will be notified within 2 hours of ATD. All recovery planned to arrive at its destination within 24 hours of the original STA, pending certain restrictions at destination such as customs hours and weekend/holiday closures. |
