IAG Cargo further expands pharma network with new Constant Climate station in Kuala Lumpur
The addition of Kuala Lumpur to the Constant Climate network further strengthens IAG Cargo’s ability to transport high-value time and temperature-sensitive shipments quickly and securely across the globe
There are now 13 stations in the Asia-Pacific region approved for Constant Climate, IAG Cargo’s cutting-edge cold chain solution, designed specifically for the transportation of pharmaceuticals
IAG Cargo operates around 100 approved Constant Climate stations globally
IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG), has further enhanced its global pharmaceuticals offering with the addition of a station at Kuala Lumpur International Airport to its worldwide Constant Climate network.
IAG Cargo’s Constant Climate product is a cutting-edge cold chain solution designed specifically for the transportation of pharmaceuticals, such as vaccines, biotech products, and diagnostic samples, along with other temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical materials.
The company’s global network now includes around 100 Constant Climate-approved stations, with the new Kuala Lumpur station served by a daily London Heathrow–Kuala Lumpur service.
The GDP-certified Kuala Lumpur facility is equipped to handle both active and passive temperature-controlled shipments. Customers can also choose IAG Cargo's Critical service, combining the highest priority shipping status with enhanced shipment monitoring for urgent temperature-sensitive shipments.
Jordan Kohlbeck, Head of Pharmaceutical at IAG Cargo, said:
“Adding Kuala Lumpur to our Constant Climate network further enhances IAG Cargo’s presence in Southeast Asia, strengthening both our origin and destination capabilities for pharmaceutical and healthcare shipments. It expands our regional coverage and offers customers greater flexibility when moving temperature-sensitive goods across the globe.
“With around 100 approved Constant Climate stations worldwide, and our state-of-the-art New Premia facility at our London Heathrow headquarters, IAG Cargo is ideally positioned to manage high-value, time- and temperature-sensitive shipments quickly and securely.
“This expansion reflects the growing demand for reliable cold chain solutions, driven by ongoing innovation in life sciences and the increasing need for fast, temperature-controlled transport of biologics, cell and gene therapies, and personalised medicines - all of which rely on the speed and precision that air cargo uniquely provides.”
The addition of Kuala Lumpur comes as IAG Cargo continues to strengthen its pharmaceutical offering through its London Heathrow hub, where it provides third-party handling services for MASkargo. Pharmaceutical shipments routing via Heathrow benefit from dedicated temperature-controlled handling and onward connections across the global Constant Climate network.
Jordan Kohlbeck added:
“The daily Kuala Lumpur-London Heathrow schedule has been optimised to enhance service quality and reliability. An early morning arrival into London Heathrow enables same-day connections to a number of key Constant Climate stations across the IAG Cargo network - helping ensure faster, more secure delivery of pharmaceutical shipments worldwide.”
The announcement follows the launch of the Global Cargo Joint Business between IAG Cargo, Qatar Airways Cargo and MASkargo, further strengthening connectivity across one of the world's largest combined air cargo networks.
